Man burned all over in Klang house fire


KLANG: A man was burned all over his body while another escaped a house fire along Jalan Tebung Bukit Kapar here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director operations Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said the distress call was made at about 5.21am on Sunday (June 25).

"A total of 20 firemen were dispatched to the scene," he said in a statement.

Mohamadul Ehsan said the fire involved a one-storey house.

"The two men who were in the house managed to escape before we arrived. A 38-year-old man suffered 45% burns all over his body and he was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang for treatment," he said.

Mohamadul Ehsan added that a 24-year-old man managed to escape uninjured.

"The fire was under control at 5.40am and was fully put out six minutes later; 60% of the house was destroyed and we are working to uncover the cause of the fire," he said.
